ToxinThe fire in her eyes  grew dim and then died  as the poison inside  reached her heart  “Poison Girl” by HIM   
     The cold stone of the statue on Hope’s back was a soothing contrast to the upheaval that was her existence. Snuggling into the encircling arms, Hope tried her best to meld into them and be still. She always came to this park when life seemed too much;  the gnarled trees and grotesque marble figures that were it’s trademark drove most people away, but the silence they created within this space was exactly what Hope usually needed. Stifled     Above the broken and battered heights of the city, night was closing in; not that you could tell. For as daylight faded it was replaced with equal speed by a dirty glow. Streetlights, headlights, bar lights, all of them filtered up between the buildings to drown out the stars.       It was at this sickly orange sky that I stared as I stood with my back to the ledge       “We only needed one!” I screamed to the city, “One fucking star would have saved us!” I lifted one leg and put it backwards into space.       Stifled

Hope and Fiction

So! I posted the 2nd of the 3 short prose pieces I wrote while I was away, along with (in my opinion) an EXCELLENT short story (Toxin) I wrote about my favorite character, Hope, for a fiction writing classes at college a few months ago. There's one more prose piece up my sleeve for tomorrow, coincidentally enough it's also about Hope. Check these out for now though, you'll have to wait for the last one.
